Receding Gums Best Prevented If You Keep Your Mouth Clean
What makes it important for the oral hygiene to be practice is to prevent the build up of plaque. Plaque is formed by the accumulation of bacteria from food particles left in the mouth and it produces acids that causes cavities to the tooth and irritation to the gums resulting to gum diseases and eventually to tooth loss. Gingivitis, receding gums and bad breath are more likely to occur if proper oral hygiene is not practiced.
With proper oral hygiene such as the practice of toothbrushing and flossing and by using antiseptic mouthwash will prevent the build up of bacteria. Proper nutrition helps in having healthy and strong teeth and gums. Paying your dentist for professional cleaning and check ups is also necessary. Not all the food particles can be removed through brushing and flossing alone especially in the hard to reach areas.
