 When you notice some changes in your dental health such as bleeding gums and swollen gums, and symptoms such as sore throat, bad breath and sensitivity. A lot of people are experiencing swollen gums and it is an infection of the gums that is being caused by infection as a result of excessive accumulation of plaque. Swollen gums is an indication of gum disease, and to effectively treat swollen gums you should know the underlying cause of condition.

The infection of gums if left untreated may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, ulcers, diabetes, pregnancy complications and respiratory diseases. Swollen gums are being indicated by having red to bluish red to deep blue and the gums becomes soft and spongy. Bleeding gums may occur at its advance stage. The condition may be prevented by being informed about it and by having o proper oral hygiene habit. Swollen gums treatment is necessary especially when there is a presence of bleeding gums which indicates its advance stage and it requires the dentist's intervention.
